How to Play

Everything you need to know to become a Quantum Button master

Getting Started

Quantum Button is simple to learn but challenging to master. When you first open the game, you'll see the splash screen with the Quantum Button logo. Tap "PRESS TO START" to enter the main menu.

You can play immediately as a guest, or sign in with your Google account to unlock cloud saves, leaderboards, and social features. Signing in is recommended — it means your progress is saved across all your devices and you can compete on the global leaderboard.

If it's your first time playing, the game walks you through a quick interactive tutorial that teaches you the basics of tapping, streaks, and missing.

Basic Controls

The controls are straightforward: tap (or click) the glowing button when it appears. That's it. The challenge comes from the button's behaviour — it moves around the screen and the timer to reach it gets shorter as your streak grows.

On Mobile: Tap the button with your finger. The game is designed for single-finger play.

On Desktop: Click the button with your mouse. The hitbox matches the visual size exactly.

Misses: Tapping outside the button counts as a miss and resets your streak (in Hardcore and Zen, one miss ends the round entirely).

Near miss: Tap just outside the button and you'll see "SO CLOSE!" — no penalty, just a heads-up that you almost lost it.

Understanding Streaks & Combos

Streaks are the core mechanic of Quantum Button. Every successful tap raises your streak counter by one. Hit certain streak thresholds and you unlock combo multipliers that boost every point you score from that moment on:

10+
1.5x
COMBO!
25+
2x
SUPER
50+
3x
MEGA
100+
5x
ULTRA

A miss in Classic, Marathon, Devil, or Endless resets your streak to zero — but the game continues. In Hardcore and Zen, one miss ends the round on the spot. Either way, protecting a long streak is the single biggest skill in Quantum Button. Every 50 streak also rewards you with a free crate.

Tap Rarity

Every successful tap rolls for a rarity bonus on top of your combo multiplier. Most taps are common, but the rarer the roll, the bigger the points spike. Mythic taps are the jackpot moments players chase.

Common (60%) — 1.0x points

Uncommon (25%) — 1.06x points

Rare (10%) — 1.1x points

Super (3%) — 2.0x points

Ultra (1.5%) — 2.7x points

Mythic (0.5%) — 3.8x points + jackpot sound

Tap a near-miss right next to the button after a high roll and you might see "ALMOST MYTHIC!" — that's the game telling you how close you came.

Game Modes

Classic (60 seconds)

The standard experience. Sixty seconds to score as many points as possible. Misses reset your streak but the game keeps going. This is the mode used for the main global leaderboard.

Hardcore (60 seconds)

Same time limit as Classic, but ONE miss ends the round instantly. To compensate, points are doubled. Hardcore is where serious players prove their precision.

Zen (No timer)

Pure precision mode. No clock. The button speed slowly ramps with your streak, and one miss ends the run. How long can you stay perfect?

Marathon (5 minutes)

A five-minute endurance test with its own dedicated leaderboard. Pace yourself — burning out at minute two will cost you the run.

Devil (60 seconds)

Extreme speed and brutal difficulty. The Devil button moves unpredictably and the atmosphere shifts to match. Unlock Devil mode in the shop.

Endless (Unlocks at Level 20)

No timer at all. The button speed ramps up the more points you score, capping at extreme speed. Endless has its own global high-score leaderboard. Unlocks once you reach player level 20.

Power-Ups & Shop Items

Shield (2,500 coins): Auto-activates next game and absorbs one miss. Particularly valuable in Hardcore and Zen where one miss ends the run.

2X Boost (5,000 coins): Doubles your score for one entire game. Stacks with combo multipliers and rarity bonuses for massive scores.

Time Warp (7,500 coins): Adds 30 seconds to your next timed game. Brutal value when you're chasing a personal best.

In-game Power-Ups: Random Shield and Slow-Mo pickups spawn during play and last 5 seconds each. Tap them as soon as you see them.

Skins

Skins change the look of your tap button — colours, glow, and visual effects during play. Some skins also grant a small permanent coin bonus per game, shown on the results screen.

How to get skins: Open crates (15% chance per crate), reach level milestones (NEON at 20, GLITCH at 40, GOLD at 50), or buy special skins from the shop.

Devil skin: Spawns decoy buttons during play and adds fire effects. Decoys scale with your streak — get good or get punished.

Cosmic skin: Black-hole warp distortion and meteor visual effects across the play area.

Manage your skins in Shop → Skins. Equipping a skin activates its bonus.

Crates & Spins

Loot crates contain coins, skins, VS items, and the occasional jackpot. You earn crates from streak milestones (every 50 streak), daily quests, the daily spin, and friend referrals. You can also buy them in the shop for 1,000 coins.

72% — 100 to 500 coins

15% — New skin (or 1,000 coins if duplicate)

8% — VS item (Fury, Barrier, or Shadow Clone)

5% — Jackpot! 2,000 coins

Daily Spin is free every 24 hours and rewards 100-500 coins, free crates, or shield power-ups. Pro players get double rewards. Mega Spin is a Pro-exclusive premium wheel with 24-hour cooldown and bigger prizes including 2,000 coins, 5 crates, and the rare RGB Name and RGB Border unlocks.

Quests & Achievements

Quests are objectives that reward you for playing. There are three tiers, each with its own reset cycle:

Daily Quests: Reset every day at midnight. Tap 500 buttons (free crate), reach a 20 streak (200 coins), score 5,000 points in one game (mythic crate).

Weekly Quests: Tap 5,000 times this week (3 crates), play 20 games (750 coins), reach a 50 streak (mythic crate).

Monthly Quests: Tap 50,000 times (5 crates), play 100 games (2,000 coins), play every game mode at least once (legendary crate).

Quests track automatically as you play. Tap the quest icon in the menu to claim your rewards before the reset. Achievements are permanent milestones that never reset and reward you for cumulative goals like total taps, lifetime max streak, and total games played.

Player Challenges & Chains

Send another player a score to beat. After finishing a game, tap "Challenge a friend," share the link, and they'll try to top your target. Beating a player challenge target rewards 100 coins.

Solo Challenge Chains are multi-stage progression goals you complete on your own:

Speed Demon Chain: Five score milestones across Classic, Hardcore, and Devil modes. Total reward: up to 4,350 coins across the chain.

Zen Master Chain: Four streak milestones in Zen mode (20, 40, 70, 100). Total reward: up to 2,350 coins.

Endurance Chain: Four Marathon score milestones (2,000 to 15,000). Total reward: up to 4,550 coins.

Chain stages must be cleared in order. Check your progress in the Challenges menu.

Social Features

Leaderboards: Separate global leaderboards for the standard modes, Marathon, Endless, and VS. Filter by Pro/Free tier and game mode. Marathon, Endless, and VS each have dedicated boards.

Friends: Add players by username or directly from the leaderboard. See their level, online status, and challenge them to a VS match.

Friend Referral: When a new player joins using your referral link, both of you earn a Mythic Crate.

Blocking: Block any player from their profile. Blocked players cannot challenge or message you. Manage your block list in Profile → Privacy → Blocked Players.

Reporting: If a player misbehaves, tap the Report button on their profile or inside a VS match. Reports go to the moderation team.

⚔️ VS Mode (1v1 Multiplayer)

VS Mode is a real-time 1v1 multiplayer battle. Challenge another player to a 30-second tap-off where you can see each other's scores updating live.

How to Play VS

Tap the VS button on the main menu to open the VS Hub, then tap PLAY. You can Create a Room (generates a code to share), Join a friend's room with a code, Quick Join to be matched automatically, or browse open rooms. Once both players are connected, a 3-2-1 countdown starts and the 30-second battle begins.

VS Items

Sabotage your opponent during a match. Three items are available, with a 5-second cooldown between uses.

⚡ Fury — Speeds up the enemy button for 3 seconds.

🛡️ Barrier — Blocks all enemy taps for 2 seconds. Pure lockdown.

👥 Shadow Clone — Spawns fake decoy buttons on the enemy screen for 3 seconds. Only the real one scores.

VS Points (VP) & Scoring

Winning a match earns VS Points based on your margin. Win by 50+ for a Domination bonus (+80 VP), by 30+ for Crushing (+50 VP), or by any margin for a standard win. Win streaks multiply your VP up to 2x. Every win also earns +200 coins.

VS Shop & Spins

The VS Hub has its own shop where you buy individual VS items, VS Crates, and spin the VS Daily Wheel for free rewards. Pro subscribers unlock the VS Mega Spin with better rewards and a monthly grant of 3 of each VS item.

VS Leaderboards & Progression

VS has its own daily, weekly, and monthly leaderboards ranked by VP. The hub also tracks your VS XP and Level, your VS Login Streak (open the VS Hub daily for escalating rewards), your win/loss record, current and best win streaks, and your last 10 match results.

📹 VS Camera Feed

VS matches optionally support a live front-camera video feed so you can see your opponent's face while you battle. It is one of the most fun ways to play with friends — but it is always your choice.

Always optional: Camera is OFF by default. You decide per-match whether to turn it on. If you keep it off, your opponent just sees your profile picture.

Permission: The first time you enable the camera in a match your browser will ask for permission to use it. You can revoke this any time in your browser settings.

Privacy: The video feed is peer-to-peer between you and your opponent. It is NOT recorded, NOT stored, and NOT visible to anyone else. The match ends, the feed ends.

Age requirement: Camera features require you to confirm you are 16 or older. This is a safety requirement for video chat with strangers and is enforced the first time you try to enable a camera feature.

Pro Subscription

Quantum Button is free to play, and all game modes are available to free players. The optional Pro subscription adds premium perks:

No advertisements during gameplay. Double coins on everything you earn. Mega Spin access with exclusive RGB Name and RGB Border unlocks. A monthly 5,000 coin drop. Eight exclusive Pro avatars. Double Daily Spin rewards. A Pro badge on your leaderboard profile.

VS Mode Pro Perks: Pro subscribers receive 3x Fury, 3x Barrier, and 3x Shadow Clone items free every month, and unlock the VS Mega Spin with better item rewards.

365-Day Login Reward: Log in 365 days in a row and earn a free 12-month Pro upgrade — no purchase required. The most dedicated players get Pro for free.

Pro is available as a monthly, yearly, or lifetime purchase. You can manage or cancel any time.

🛡️ Safety & Privacy

We take player safety seriously. Quantum Button has multiple layers of protection so you can play, compete, and challenge friends without worry.

Age requirement (camera only): You must be 16 or older to use camera and video features in VS. All other features — solo modes, friends, VS without camera, messaging — are available at any age.

Block list: Block any player from their profile. Blocked players cannot challenge, match, or message you. Manage the list in Profile → Privacy → Blocked Players.

Reporting: Report inappropriate behaviour from a player's profile or directly inside a VS match. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team.

Camera privacy: Camera is always off by default. Video feeds are peer-to-peer and never recorded or stored.
